We’re gearing up to pilot our vision in 2022/23

Our next steps

The second phase of work for YES will be focused on building a long-term viable and scaleable programme of environmental employment for young people.

We have an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of a nationwide programme of youth employment in the nature & conservation sector, details of which will be announced in the coming months.

This will then be our stepping stone to a long-term scaled programme of accessible youth employment opportunities across the environmental sector.

To get there, we will be working across two key streams over then next 24 months:

1

Refining the model through the pilot programme, bringing our expertise and connections to support a delivery organisation to set-up and run the pilot programme. In this context we expect to act as a formative evaluator, helping support the best possible outcomes of the pilot and developing and refining a viable long-term model.

2

Coordinating a movement of nationwide support and engagement with the programme, from the environmental organisations creating the placements, partners helping to enable them, funders providing financial resources, to the activists, think tanks and politicians calling for the programme as a national policy.
